I posted various tech news blurbs in a Slack channel at my last two jobs. Former coworkers have requested that I have a place to continue to do so. Here you go!
How Amazon Dies: A Possible, Maybe Likely Future

The everything store is still there. You still can’t find anything in it.

I'm pretty much always glad to see money going to open source. This press release is… slightly absurd.

Both the Alpha Omega initiative and the Open Source Security Foundation (OpenSSF) will receive funding through the Linux Foundation grants. Software security is at […]

But seriously, Kagi is amazing. I pay for it and use it heavily, and I'm so happy to see them continue to expand their offerings.

I appreciate Sinofsky comparing where the Mac Neo to Microsoft's attempt to build Windows RT. I still have an RT Surface at home, and the main annoyance I have with it is that MS decided to make it so locked down that to this day I can't run anything on it…

239. Mac Neo and my afternoon of reflection and melancholy

I'm completely blown away by Mac Neo. It made me think a lot about what we tried to accomplish with Windows 8 more than a dozen years ago. Being early is no different than being wrong…mostly.

Always interesting to see the progress in IPv6-only AWS accounts.

Slight rant: I really, really want to implement Passkeys on my websites. The current UX is horrible. The proposed "immediate mediation" feature would solve so many issues and allow me to ship some of this. But a bunch of folks are worried about _tracking_, so it's getting slow-walked in some contexts. So I keep using passwords or emailed magic links. 😡
TIL: IPv6 link local address don't work in Firefox or Chrome-based browsers.
