#dayTrip to Halle (Saale). Pretty impressed by how nice the city looks
Once more I had a very good time with my seminar visiting the Museum für Naturkunde in Berlin. Thanks to Ina Heumann for making it possible, her time and her expertise.

We had an excellent time exploring how the museum represents environments and how different material and conceptual environments are mediated in a museum. We will continue the discussion next week in class.

Sadly, I forgot, AGAIN, to take a picture of the interesting (and terrifying) skulls and antlers exhibit. Fortunately, it looks like there are occasional opportunities to see it as part of guided visits (and it seems it will open to the public next summer): https://www.museumfuernaturkunde.berlin/de/mitmachen/veranstaltungen/geweihe-schaedel-und-dekoloniale-perspektiven-ein-blick-hinter-die

Last week I went with my “Environment as a Process” seminar @[email protected] to the #MuseumfürNaturkunde in Berlin to see how environments are/can be shown in natural history exhibitions. I was so engrossed in discussion that I forgot to take a picture of the preview of the new rooms showing the museum’s skull collection they led us to. But the temporary exhibition on #birds is amazing and well worth visiting #histsci #envhist
Yesterday I was told that the #toilets of Glamorgan Building in Cardiff, where I’m attending a workshop, were used in #DrWho. Not having seen any of the series, first time I went to the #restroom I was rather unimpressed, but thought “OK, why not”. The second time around I think I found the ones that were meant.
