Evel is very happy to announce the launch of a new sublabel dedicated to the dancefloor FFT.
For quite some time we have wanted to open a space within the label where rhythm, groove and movement could take a more central role. With this new project we finally have the opportunity to explore music that leans more directly toward club environments and dance-oriented structures. That said, coming from the background we come from, listeners will probably still find some twisted arrangements, unusual melodies and slightly unpredictable structures along the way. Even so, we are sure that among these tracks you will discover moments that inspire you to dance, to play them out, and to simply let yourself be carried by the rhythm.
For the first release of this new sublabel we are proud to present a collaboration between Trash Panda QC and Lilienfeld.
The project draws inspiration from the tradition of schaffel grooves and from complex polyrhythmic structures, blending them into a sound that sits somewhere between experimental electronic music and dancefloor-driven energy.
convenience and ease (especially under capitalism) almost always come at the cost of external waste/extraction/exploitation and deskilling.
... something something "conservation of energy" something ...
for example ...
we have non-stick cookware. it makes cooking easier because you don't have to have the knowledge and skill to know how to use and maintain stainless steel or cast iron (or etc). people don't learn the skills to cook or maintain "forever cookware" anymore ... the cost for that ease and convenience is that non-stick pans are disposable and often made with "forever chemicals"
... so instead of learning to maintain a pan that will last hundreds of years and is functionally non-stick if you know how to use it, we taught generations to use a product that is pure waste and failed to teach them the skills to end the cycle of waste, or even know that it doesn't need to be wasteful like this.
some people still learn to use more robust and sustainable cookware, but it's become more of a "hobby" or "interest" rather than a cultural norm, or the domain of professionals.
.... now do "ai" ...

This exemplifies my recent podcast and interview rants that - even if you ignore the human and environmental impacts - generative AI takes away the greatest human joy in the world: learning.
AI companies are exploiting an already-downtrodden populace who have been trained to believe that klout is better than process, and that a certificate of completion is the point, rather than the byproduct.
And that comes from DECADES of systemic abuse and control.
We've been sold down the river.
