@blogdiva @xris when I was a kid, my moms pattern kits were as cool as comic books - the variations of patterns/fabric of those classic illustrations mesmerized me.
@Deglassco Thank you for this summary. I reread the 1619 Project and NYT response to critiques. So very difficult to change mindsets when the ones in power and privilege own the media. Even worse, as we are experiencing, when they control all branches of government to undermine all gains made on equality and liberty.

The 1619 Project was not a legal claim. It did not declare that the nation was born in bondage. What it said—plainly—was that America’s founding ideals were inseparable from its founding crimes. Black Americans were not passengers. They were agents. Not beneficiaries—Builders.
