I'm just a programmer who uses Arch Linux.
@slayerfest79 @itsfoss Market share means more native software, available games and greater acceptance of Linux culture (using open-source software). Linux is the only chance to change the way users think and what they demand from companies, which will either adapt and improve user experience (lesser ads and subscriptions), or disappear. Linux can be securely configured to avoid some types of viruses. And also, there aren't any viruses for FreeBSD, so there is always an alternative.

There isn't a single good open-source browser.

Chromium relies on Google too much. Firefox will turn into an AI browser, and it's just too slow to use any of its forks (that involuntarily delay security patches). The company behind Brave has done shady things in the past to its users. In CLI browsers it's not really possible to show a picture, or easily play an audio file (at least in Lynx).

Major web browsers aren't made for users anymore. Minor browsers are lacking features and performance.
