Now that I don’t have a real job, I have lots more time to tinker with my homelab server.
Today I found a really simple way to use the same domain name for my homelab services (https://app.home.arpa), whether I’m connected on my local network or remotely through Tailscale. All without installing a DNS server.

@rodrigo any of the plus models which have faster CPUs and upgradable RAM. I have a bunch of local services running on mine with Docker.
Worth saying that Synology has been moving focus over to the enterprise and retail customers aren’t happy about it. I still like my old 218+ though, their DSM software is just so simple and elegant.
