It’s going to fail to provide the absurd gains these idiots executives keep claiming. Of course I suspect all the layoffs and stuff they’re doing, they’re just using “AI” as a cover for their own incompetence (over hiring during COVID among other things).

Well some people are just stupid too lol. I bet most of them see that threat. Some also want to try and be the one that stays behind because they did all the AI stuff not realizing it’s all going to fail lol.

Thing is, I’m sure they do. But they’re middle management so they can’t do shit about it. Executives that think this stupid shit up have their heads so far up their ass they don’t understand how incredibly dumb their ideas for what AI does actually are.

It’s not that people won’t host them. It’s that no one will go there. I’ve run forums for years and years but people don’t care anymore. Hell I don’t even care that much. You can host all you want but if no one goes there, you’re boned.

It’s mostly because all the streaming services won’t give you higher res and HDR unless you’re using one of the boxes. You don’t need the slop tho. Nvidia shield imo has been solid for over a decade now. I’m over fire TV and those cheap shitty no name boxes are even worse. I have no idea why people fuck with those. Even a fire TV is better than that lol.

I don’t know why more people don’t do this. Don’t connect the TV to the Internet. Ever. Do updates using a flash drive if you must and connect whatever flavor streaming box you like. The TVs and their dumb os get slow and shitty anyway so why fuck around with it? Lol.

Yeah I had those wemo switches in my old house and their servers were unreliable as fuck all the time (app was straight garbage). I’m not even surprised they finally pulled the plug. They’re on my shit list forever now.

It costs more but I went hue and couldn’t be happier. Spent too many years complaining about how it was expensive but God damn if they don’t just work and Phillips I trust far more to not just shut shit down (and even if they did, I can still make them work since it’s not proprietary).
