I have a thesis at the university to turn a raspberry into a hypervisor. OpenWrt, distro like Gentoo and other open source OSes should work in the assignment. I've had partial success with Proxmox with Ubuntu only, but only if Proxmox is installed via UEFI and the VM is also UEFI. Nor with vSphere I've been able to get it to work. I don't know what black magic the guys on YouTube do to get it to work, but it turned my hair white until I realize how pointless it is. Its on Pi5 by the way
