[email protected] it's not really a huge deal for most people. sickos like me like to try to dial things in to the "intended" output ratio and resolution and the Wii U just doesn't quite nail it. but it's totally fine! I will say that they definitely didn't hold digital out as in incentive to upgrade, it's just that they found it an unnecessary expense. the gamecube's original model had it, a bet on potential adoption of new display tech, but then when it didn't pan out quite so aggressively for consumers, the pulled the digital out on a later revision of the gamecube and made a more modest upgrade to component out for analog only on the wii.
