becoming a new* type of guy** in the middle of IRL interaction... Mildly disorienting

*actually probably a much older one but has only recently been around again

** ""Guy""

hmm the aldis near me has a whole frozen duck for sale 🤔 v tempted to get it if i can find a sufficient resippy

reconnected with a tumblr mutual who was trying to be christian around the same time i was --now she's ALSO considering conversion to judaism which is like. amazing coincidences and we've been writing 2k+ word emails back and forth to each other

and it's really just wonderful, i've gone so long w/o being able to talk in depth with someone abt the particular sort of religion im drawn to/religiosity i have / and just AGGGHHHH it's really nice!!!!

met up with someone i'd matched with on friend bumble today!!! it was a decent time, we went to some bookstores and plant shops & got cajun food & vegan ice cream

overall a success! but kind of wowed by the income discrepancy as they are a software engineer and we work at a minimum wage job lmao....they spent probably around $300 casually today whereas we were like [spends $30] [gets a bit nervous bc im going on a trip later next week and should b saving more for that]

we have a glass cutter and surely it can't be THAT much different than a bottle cutter?!?! ofc the hardest part with that is making sure to cut in a straight line, but like....
basically the accepted ways seem to be
-douse a string in lighter fluid or acetone, wrap it around the bottle where you want it cut, then set it on fire. douse it in cold water to stress the glass afterwards so it'll break
-buy a bottle cutter
the nerve of someone making a tutorial to suggest crafting a hot wire with a spare microwave transformer and then end it with "this is by far the easiest way i have cut a glass bottle" 😤 😤
have been trying out some recipes from "artisan bread in 5 minutes a day"
>really love the ease of bread baking w it !!
>still gotta tweak a bit to get sourdough to come out properly bc they're intended for storebought yeasts
>it was wild going from a sourdough to a store yeast dough, the latter rose way quicker but it barely kept once it was cooked, it dried out SOO FAST comparatively
