VST 3.8 SDK Released Dear VST Developers, Steinberg Media Technologies today releases the VST SDK 3.8 Here’s a brief overview of changes: Version 3.8.0 (2025/10/20) New licensing model for VST 3: VST 3 is now open source, released under the MIT license. Interface changes: Support for MIDI 2.0: new interfaces IMidiLearn2 and IMidiMapping2. These new interfaces replace the previous interfaces IMidiLearn and IMidiMapping. Add missing ControllerNumbers enum for MIDI 1.0 System messages...
VST 3 SDK 3.8.0 is out!
The VST 3 SDK has transitioned to a new licensing model and is now available as open source under the MIT License. Additionally, further enhancements have been made to MIDI 2 support.
VSTGUI has been updated to version 4.15.0, introducing a CSS-style grid layouter, scripting support for UIDescription, and preliminary Wayland support for Linux.

Next to fixing cmake's createlink on macOS 15.4 there are minor bug fixes and further improvements in the documentation. The VSTGUI has also been updated to 4.14.3.

There are bug fixes and improvements in the C++ and CMake code as well as updates to the documentation. The VSTGUI has also been updated to 4.14.2.

This version offers support for the AudioUnitSDK 1.1.0. Furthermore it adds MIDI 2 support for AUv2 and a new AudioUnit tutorial. The VSTGUI has also been updated to 4.14.0.
