We need an immediate ban on the use of AI tools in the UK asylum process.

There are many ways to clear the Home Office’s backlog of asylum cases and raise standards – these tools are not the answer.

The UK government must not automate the hostile environment for migrants with AI.

Ban AI tools in asylum decision making

Take action! What’s the problem? The Home Office is using two AI tools: The Asylum Case Summarisation (ACS) tool uses ChatGPT-4 to summarise asylum interview transcripts. The Asylum Policy Search (APS) tool summarises country Policy and Information Notes (CPINs), guidance documents, and Country of Origin Information (COI) reports. The Home Office’s own evaluation revealed that 9% of the ACS AI-generated summaries were so flawed they had to be removed from the pilot. It also found that 23% of caseworkers lacked full confidence in the tools’ outputs.

Reverse loopholes exist solely to trick people into thinking that problems have been solved while those problems continue to fester.

I’m so old I remember when Reagan proudly said that what distinguished America was that anyone could become equally an American, regardless of where they had been born.

Gen AI found the biz model.

step 1: subsidize code generation so everyone forgets how to read/write code manually

step 2: many shops fire software dev and IT folks who know how to write code to save money

step 3: now charge 10x to 50x to ensure the AI generated code by that most humans largely can't understand actually works and cause outages

step 4: announce new code fix service that even cost more to fix AI mess

this is like donuts & weight loss/dietitian biz working out of same office

Why can't someone just tell me about one of these things before it happens so I could get in on the rug pull and make some money with the rest of ya'll just once?

It's not fair. They keep using tweets like this to make the market jump and wiggle and all of us have to just watch while they get rich off of insider information. Since no one ever gets in trouble for insider trading anymore I just feel like a sucker for being left out.

:(

What? Voting works? What sort of sorcery is this

Called it: "Outdated targeting data may have resulted in a mistaken missile strike" As I said a few days ago, they probably had old maps. (Not an excuse - that's an intel fail)
I’m currently writing a book about what’s really wrong with #SCOTUS and how to fix it. Suffice it to say, this ain’t it:
President Trump announces that to combat climate change he is facilitating crude oil prices going to $500/barrel.
