Using the iFixit toolkit for off-brand reasons is a current fetish thing, right?
These pics are never as fun as the experience itself, but let me assure you that it was delightful, and that I'm very pleased to have an unusual - and hopefully thus mildly unsettling to bystanders - new bit of metal through me.
Note: all piercing equipment was sterile wrapped. Jewellery was boiled for a tediously long time, all surfaces wiped down with 90% isopropyl alcohol and sterile gloves worn.
Further caveat: arm piercings, like most surface piercings, should be regarded as temporary. They're slow to heal, prone to infection, liable to catching on clothing and likely to eventually grow out.
You should ideally use a surface bar rather than the banana bar I have here.
This is the first one of several that I've actually put jewellery in, but I'm under no illusions that it'll be with me for a long time.
Don't do one of these as your first piercing! Get an understanding of professional piercing before experimenting on yourself!
Probably don't do any of this stuff at all, please take one look at my bio and posting history and consider whether you really wish to follow my example in literally anything!
Please excuse the excess exclamation marks. Pointy things make the good brain chemicals.
