As someone who parts together old thinkpads like some people do OG Volkswagen bugs, why? There's plenty of 10+ year old high end end laptops that are still better than new commodity laptops. It's just no longer supported by windows.

@charlesgaba What about colonoscopies starting at age 45? The recommended age for the first one has gone down by five years.
