Not to mention that NYPD is absolutely among the most visible violators of basic rules in this city like parking, bike lanes, etc.
Imagine if policing as an institution actually prioritized service instead of whatever it is they prioritize now - shows of force?
This is another data point confirming that law enforcement presence reduces crime. It's clear we need police, but it's just as clear we need to fix policing.
Crime on New York City subways has dropped since more police officers flooded the system in October, issuing thousands more summonses and making hundreds more arrests, Mayor Eric Adams and Gov. Kathy Hochul said on Friday.

We are absolutely 100% winning.
The question is not whether we will win, it's whether we will win fast enough.
WE ARE NOT WINNING. Former Vice President of the USA says the people who run our world and economy are driving us towards global cataclysm. Where are our cultural and political leaders? They need to raise the alarm and demand action NOW #ClimateEmergency http://ox.ac.uk/news/2021-08-0…

Such great context. Hochul's absolutely essential housing proposals would still fall short of the 1920s construction boom when the city was substantially smaller.
New York needs this.
Here's 10-year moving totals, 1930-2020 (# of new #housing units built in #NYC each year + total for previous 9 yrs). Roaring Twenties saw nearly 800k units built. @[email protected] @[email protected]
