According to the documentation: https://docs.joinmastodon.org/spec/activitypub#blurhash

"Mastodon generates colorful preview thumbnails for attachments."

However, it seems that it's not always generated.  
See this (https://mastodon.social/@trwnh/100426298595905251) toot as an example.

The toot is marked as sensitive but the API returns the blurhash property as null.
