@john @AngelosLH Thanks John. I'm struggling to understand the terminology. I've had a quick look in the documentation but was not able to find a glossary of terms. Eg: What is an instance, what's a server, what is federated, what is local, etc.
Is there a page that explains all the terms?
@AngelosLH I agree, it seems very fractured and confusing. I try to follow people and am told I have to copy and paste their handle to somewhere else, but not sure where. "Local" seems to have messages from nonlocal people. I have no idea what "Federated" means here on Mastodon. Is there a cheat sheet somewhere I wonder?
