Dear @davgar51 and @guentheralex Here is a poem I originally wrote for @PoetsonThursday for the bird site when I was thinking about my best friend (truly), and then thought of my human friends there. So, after schmoozing with my friend the cat (Lucie-Minou), and feeling sorry for myself, anyway, the poem was written and I posted it midweek, on Sunday, inviting others to do the same. But it's now Wed. am and so I'm puttinig it up here, #PoetsonThursday #poetry. Copyright 1/28/23, VLB) Vicki
Hey, there, @davgar51 and @guentheralex , and any other determined to get this hashtag on Mastodon #PoetsonThursday off the ground! I've been busy today and recuperating from a bad situation, but I'm finally here, before Thursday is over where I am, to post some #poetry. This is a poem I put up for my friends and colleagues and writers and poets all across the bird site about a year ago, folks whose works I'd come to admire. It's called "The Prayer." Victoria Leigh Bennett (Vicki Leigh)
A poem for #PoetsonThursday, #poetry, persisting in my efforts to get you two and others going on this on Mastodon servers and etc., @davgar51 and @guentheralex By the way, Alex, you mentioned that you might not be able to post for a while due to routine eye thing at hospital. If it should turn out to be a problem for a while, you can record to me and I'll post for you on Mastodon and the vulture site for our collective. We'll just have to work out how, odd words spelled out, etc. Vicki
Hi there, my two trusty (I hope, haven't heard much from you guys lately) fellows at @PoetsonThursday and our Mastodon attempt at the same feat, #PoetsonThursday! We're down to 0 per week on the hashtags, whereas we used to have at least the 3 of us. Let me know how you are and what's happenin'! @guentheralex and @davgar51. Here's my Thursday #poetry shot a few hours early for me, but right on time for you as you guys are both in earlier time zones. Come one come all!
Hello, @davgar51, @guentheralex and anyone else hardy enough to write a poem for #PoetsonThursday today! Here's a poem from my book "Poems from the Northeast," which was published in August, 2021. It's called "Twins," and is in a traditional style, because sometimes when you want to say something snotty in poetry, a traditional style serves best! So, here I am at my snotty best! @davgar51 @guentheralex
Hi, guys! Me again. I'm posting early for your #PoetsonThursday, but it's not early for you, since both of you are ahead of me in time zones. I don't see a declared prompt from either of you up. If I missed it, sorry. My poem's from p. 227 of my book, "Poems from the Northeast," and has this footnote on 2nd p.,: "*William Blake, in Auguries of Innocence, spoke of these experiences: "To see a World in a Grain of Sand...and Eternity in an hour." #poetry
Okay, @davgar51 and @guentheralex, I know I haven't been much fun for the last week (haven't been here) but I've had a dreadful winter cold-cum-laryngitis-cum-sore-throat and have been nursing my mother through the same after she fainted (hunger, as it turned out, as had forgotten to have her candy with her coffee in the morning) and had to go to hospital for tests for a day and a half! I'm back. So, here's my comtribution, Dave, for Poets', will also post other site. #PoetsonThursday #poetry
Posting this poem for my new poetry friends on Mastodon servers a few hours early, as I have a mother returning from a brief stay-in at a hospital tomorrow -she passed out briefly while having breakfast during a bad cold/sore throat, and had to be checked out. Seems mostly okay, vigorous and stroppy. @PoetsonThursday on Tw*tter to monitor too). So, here's my make-fun-of-Freud poem, "Loike a Bit o' Fun, Sweetheart?" #PoetsonThursday #poetry (from "Poems from the Northeast"-Victoria Leigh Bennett)
Dear Fediverse/Mastodon Friends, Okay, here it is; just what you were waiting for, right? A comic poem on Ovid's "The Art of Love." Written by me and copyrighted May 5, 2021. I've never been able to get it pub.'d, I think the editors are afraid it might offend someone, but I'm so sure that the body image remarks won't offend (which I construed in reference to my own shape, moreover), that my CW is not formally put in the CW box, but just here, letting you know it's okay to laugh. #poetry VLB
Hello, Mastodon folks! Today I'm posting a reading of my short story "The Unkindest Shot of All," explanatioin of title included. It has to do with MAGA and is not about revenge, per se, but about justice. I hope you will have time to listen. Thanks for being a kind and worthwhile audience so far! Story is copyright 1/15/2022.
