@oskay I feel like I remember seeing something like this from Omega Mart but I can’t remember if they did frosted flakes specifically. They did have these though 😆

@larkin I haven’t been able to avoid noticing that either. Pretty much the only thing I don’t like about that is that it did surface a lot of content about Ukraine and Russian language content for me, which I did appreciate. But following a few journalists covering Ukraine has helped get the news back a bit. Nice to actually get that as the result of an actual choice…

EDIT: DO NOT BOOST!

This post is nearly a year old, and boosting will simply spread misinformation. Mastodon now has substantially more funding, and has enough scale to handle its many users.

I would delete this post but my server is not letting me so I'm editing this to reflect that I wish for you to NOT BOOST!

---
Right now Mastodon is only receiving appr. $21,000/month through Patreon.

This is not enough to handle the 1 million new accounts that will be made this week.

Currently, only 4,720 patrons are donating to Mastodon.

However, if everyone chips in $2/month, this will ensure the continued survival of Mastodon!

I will give big points to the first news organization, big or small, that:
* Sets up an instance for its newsroom,
* Sets up an instance for the community it serves,
* Enables rel=me for staff,
* Creates a boost-on-Mastodon sharing function,
* Enhances that function so headlines/images (with alt-text) appear in the toot,
* Covers the Fediverse as more than a geeky curiosity or alt-Twitter,
* Listens to and joins in the conversation here.
Another test plot, this time with color. Order is going in for more Rotrings today - you can see how the red ink started out light but then get darker. This happened because I had to wash the black ink out of the pen and there was still some water remaining, which diluted the ink. Having more pens means I won’t have to swap out the ink. 🙂 #generativeart #penplotter #genartclub
@probably There’s no way I could post this on here if I didn’t speed it up 😅 ~1.5h for this plot.
One more, now that I have the hourglass shape tiles implemented (look in the top right and top left). Probably a good time to mention that although Crash by itself is environment-agnostic, the sample implementations that will come with Crash when it’s released are implemented using vsketch/vpype by @abey79 - by far the best environment for creating 2D #penplotter #generativeart in my opinion.
@hairthing The name is tangentially invoking the concept, but not much more than that AFAIK (I am not familiar enough with any of the math). The idea is that each space in the grid can be any tile, and you’re algorithmically whittling the grid spaces down to a single possible tile for each space based on the state of its neighbors. This implementation is different than mine, but @codingtrain put out a great video on this a few months ago! https://youtu.be/rI_y2GAlQFM
