Like... I don't need to be on social media. Historically, the time investment was worth what I got out of it, either as a way to keep track of folks socially or, principally, content creators focusing on various media I wanted to stay up to date with.

But that's just a nice to have. It isn't fundamental to me living my life.

The internet of the last two decades is dead at last. Whatever's crawling out of this desiccated husk... We'll manage. We have to.

No, I'm not doing Bluesky. That's a worse unmoderated libertarian hellscape than whatever we've got here.

Facebook doesn't have people or creators I like. Instagram is too focused on a particular domain to be an effective social platform for me. The reddit blackout didn't work- but I care about specific people, not subjects, anyway, so it was also just a poor fit...

Discord is at least *useful* but it doesn't afford any consolidated feed like I would want.
