Of course, you don’t have to read it. The article was behind a paywall, hence the archive of the page.
I share the author’s view that Facebook will go the way of Yahoo, CompuServe and a few others. We shall have to wait and see if the author and I are right.
LOL Oh dear! LOL

I don’t disagree with that analysis! What saddens me, though, is just how his cynicism has exploited those very flaws.

Us humans aren’t perfect; indeed we are broken, all of us. What Zuckerberg did was to exploit our shortcomings for profit and that, I’m afraid, is simply unforgiveable.

This is really satisfying to read. Metal finally on the way out.

This is one of the best articles I’ve read in a very long time.

Meta in a death spiral - Lemmy.World

I have been banging on about this now for at least a couple of years. Much as been written about what is ailing Meta at the moment; yet, strip all that away lies, at its root, a lack of integrity, common decency and humility, and a large dose of cynicism that defines the character of its founder, Mark Zuckerberg. They say a company’s culture starts with the man, or woman, at the top, and so it has come to pass. From the very beginning, with the original premise of FB being intended to rate women on their sexual desirability, the seeds of its eventual demise were planted. They are now reaping the bitter harvest that he, and he alone, sowed.

What does that say about America? I think it’s past saving to be honest.
It would appear to be the case. Very disappointing.
