My cat would be completely freaked out. But there’s still no way I’d risk letting her step into one of those.
I live in Denver and Too Good To Go just has donuts, donuts, donuts. Actually there are a handful of restaurants on it, but the app doesn’t accommodate dietary restrictions at all which is why I’ve never tried to get actual food through it. But yeah, dirt cheap piles of donuts anytime I want them.

I visited Trondheim a few months ago with my girlfriend and the alcohol prices made us want to cry. We bought the cheapest bottle of red wine we could find and I think it was $16.

We spend around $400/month on groceries in the US. We eat mostly vegan and most of our meals are made from scratch. And a really good bottle of wine can be purchased for as low as $8 here if you know where to look.

Yeah, tipping your dentist is weird, especially since they’re already paid handsomely. Just show up on time and brush your teeth before your visit.

Consistency, same reason people eat at McDonalds. Starbucks has the same signature burnt flavor at all their stores and you know exactly what you’re getting when you order one of their drinks. I agree with you though, local coffee shops are way more interesting.

Also some people have a crazy amount of Starbucks credit to burn through. My girlfriend’s employer is constantly throwing Starbucks credit her way and she accumulates it faster than she can use it, so might as well go there when she gets coffee out.

Your last point drives me crazy on a regular basis. I have a 65W fast charger in a convenient location that I use for all my USB-C devices, but I have maybe 2-3 devices that refuse to charge on it and I can never remember which ones they are. So every time I try to charge them, I come back later to find they didn’t charge and I set them aside for days/weeks until I finally get around to digging up a “dumb” cable/charger and charging them. Then after they’re charged I put away the dumb cable/charger and immediately forget that those devices can’t charge on my main charging cable.
My girlfriend requested one of those for her birthday. She takes it hiking, she’ll get down on the forest floor and use it to inspect mushrooms and leaves and bugs.
I agree, those phones always have really outdated tech. Probably a great phone if you work in a mine or operate heavy machinery and your employer issues it for use on the job, but terrible choice for most consumers.

Sounds like my experience making a return at an Amazon Books physical store a few years ago. It was like an airport bookstore filled with bestsellers and generic giftable items, no niche/specialized interests. The returns counter was slammed but there weren’t many people browsing.
