It's funny, the reasons I created this feed (need to distinguish between talking about humanities vs my current job, need to broadcast to something that isn't precisely my Twitter network) have been almost exactly met by bluesky lately. Which is sad! It would be better if this platform worked. But I don't understand how to make that happen. I'm really struck by how my main Mastodon account gets a steady stream of new followers, while this one--because it's new, above all else--gets absolutely none. Because for all that this network is non-algorithmic, it's also in some ways **more** dependent on the old Twitter network than blue sky is.
Just tried to quote-tweet this poll before I remembered that would potentially allow me to target myself with harassment. So I will note in a response: the people… er, the 'person;'?… has spoken. It'll stay "Stanford Junior University."
FFS IPEDS! I know it's always confusing whether winter is at the end of the year or the beginning, but the one place it *doesn't* belong is *between* spring and fall. Not even alphabetically!
And then to the left, next to it they reuse the leaf icon twice in a row for spring and fall.

It’s times like this that I get annoyed I’m posting here instead of my old Twitter account… because Bob Dylan followed me there, and I’m *sure* he wrestled with this for the Nobel.
Updating my CV… is it ok to say ‘declined’ to things when in fact you just didn’t respond to the email?
Given that he's older, "Parity" and "Priority" makes a nice set. If he does anything funny maybe I'll take that out for a spin.
