Quick, positive update.
A bit of background context: Shinigami eyes (https://shinigami-eyes.github.io/) is a browser extension that highlights trans-supportive and transphobic people.
It has come to my attention that I'm listed green in this extension. This humbles me tremendously because it means someone went through the effort of flagging my profile, website, etc, as "trans-friendly". Transphobic profiles and users are flagged with red in this extension.
Additionally, this has made me realise a very important thing: I think, while my friends and extended circles of acquaintances know I support trans rights, I do not believe I have ever made a public statement regarding trans people specifically, as I always consider LGBTQ rights to be inseparable and fundamental, which evidently includes trans people.
But to be more explicit, let this be my statement:
π³οΈββ§οΈ TRANS RIGHTS ARE HUMAN RIGHTS π³οΈββ§οΈ
Access to gender-affirming healthcare is important. Trans people deserve love and support. And perhaps most importantly: Transphobic people fuck off.
Nobody owes anyone an explanation or justification for their gender or sexual orientation, and every single person has the power to decide for themselves what's right.
