I'm looking to build a new PC soon and I have it just about all planned out. AMD hardware, lots of RAM, NixOS, and several directories set up as tmpfs backed by RAM. Going with KDE plasma desktop with the simple Breeze Dark theme.
I'm honestly surprised nixos doesn't come with vi by default. When I was in school they said vi is on every Unix machine and you'll always have it even if you have nothing else.

I just unsubbed from 9 politics-adjacent subreddits because it's day 0 and there's already outrage and I cannot deal with this for another 4 years.
I'm going to try real hard not to watch the news for 4 years. I can't even listen to that man speak without getting irritated after 30 seconds or so. It doesn't matter what he's talking about.
I'm going to give NixOS a try on a live USB key. If I like it enough I'll probably use it for a new PC build this year and finally switch away from Windows. Finding out how to even make the bootable usb key was a chore but hopefully this solution works
