The final ballot for the National Society of Film Critics: Best Non-Fiction Film. And the winner is Laura Poitras' Nan Goldin documentary "All the Beauty and the Bloodshed," with "Descendant" (Margaret Brown) second and "All That Breathes" (Shaunek Sen) third. Worthy films all -- check them out! That's it for today's awards, thanks for following along. The National Society of Film Critics names Jerzy Skolimowski's "EO" Best Film Not in the English Language. Panahi's "No Bears" and Park's "Decision to Leave" are the runners-up. I hope you get to see all three of these great movies. #NSFC #movies
Best Director, in a change-up, is awarded on the third ballot to Charlotte Wells for "Aftersun" -- her first feature -- with Park Chan-wook ("Decision to Leave") and Jafar Panahi ("No Bears") coming in second and third. #nsfc #movies
Four categories to go, but first the National Society of Film Critics votes on the big one: Best Picture. It goes to Todd Field's "Tár," with Charlotte Wells' "Aftersun" and Jafar Panahi's "No Bears" the runners-up. #nsfc #movies
I took a break from posting but the Nat'l Soc. of Film Critics kept voting, so to catch up: Best Screenplay goes to "Tár" (Todd Field), with Martin McDonagh's "Banshees of Inisherin" script second and James Gray's "Armageddon" third. #nsfc #movies
A clear and satisfying second ballot win for Ke Huy Quan as Best Supporting Actor for "Everything Everywhere All at Once." Brian Tyree Henry ("Causeway") and Barry Keoghan ("Banshees") in second and third place respectively. #NSFC #movies #NationalSocietyOfFilmCritics
And an easy Nat'l Society first ballot win for Colin Farrell as Best Actor for both "The Banshees of Inisherin" and "After Yang." In second place was Paul Mescal for "Aftersun" and in third Bill Nighy for "Living." (These were my own choices, in order, so I'm happy.) #NSFC #movies
NATIONAL SOCIETY OF FILM CRITICS: BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS
On the third round of voting, Best Supporting Actress goes to Kerry Condon in "The Banshees of Inisherin." Nina Hoss ("Tár"), Dolly de Leon ("Triangle of Sadness"), and Hong Chau ("The Whale" and/or "The Menu") are the runners-up. #NSFC #movies
First Nat'l Society of Film Critics award is Best Actress and it goes in the first round to Cate Blanchett for "Tár," with Michelle Yeoh coming in second for "Everything Everywhere All at Once" and Tilda Swinton third for "The Eternal Daughter." #NSFC #movies
