On my mac, VO will say Authentication, application, application or something similar every minute or two. It's really annoying and shows just how bad this platform is. I'm guessing the screen saver kicked in or something and it just can't deal with it, or my ssh session is causing it. But I still hear that even after I closed it.
Simple NVDA add-on to add to a folder of shortcuts, similar to how Internet Explorer handled favorites: https://github.com/tspivey/addFavorites

Every time I update iOS, this time to 18, something breaks. This time it's Voice Dream Reader, which I haven't updated in years. And there's no way to go back.
tdsr will hopefully switch to using uv tomorrow. I just have to get my mac and run one final test to see if my instructions work.
Procrastination sucks. I'll think about sending an email or writing a post, but won't put in the effort to write it. Weeks later I'll be reminded of it, and I'll either do it, or put it off again. Maybe I'll start writing it, but won't like the wording and don't feel like continuing, so it'll go in my clipboard history to be picked up again later. In reality, it takes a few minutes and doesn't have to be perfect, just readable.
I reported an issue to Joplin back in February (#11810), because I tried it and my notes were getting reordered if they had Windows line endings. Every month, a bot would ping me asking if it was still an issue. When I forgot to answer, the issue was closed by the bot and they want me to create a new one. It's a waste of my time for an app I don't even use, because the basics of importing my notes doesn't work properly. In my oppinion, issues should stay open until someone looks at them, even if it takes years.
I used to be able to type directions from address1 to address2 into Google, and it would give me directions from place to place, with clear times and which busses to take. Now it doesn't. It just tells me the line names and that's it.
The state of Linux accessibility in 2025. This started out as a rant but became a series. Please feel free to leave feedback, comments, and subscribe via rss or email for more stuff as I release it. https://fireborn.mataroa.blog/blog/i-want-to-love-linux-it-doesnt-love-me-back-post-1-built-for-control-but-not-for-people/
I Want to Love Linux. It Doesn’t Love Me Back: Post 1 – Built for Control, But Not for People — fireborn

Thanks to @jscholes , the solution is to go to https://github.com/settings/accessibility and disable hovercards.
