Friday night! I've just realised I can sing Dick Van Dyke's Me Ol' Bamboo from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang but replace the word "bamboo" with "vin rouge". It still scans. Pretty sure that's going to be a keeper. Chin chin! 🍷🍷

I have somehow "trained" my dog to leap up on my lap for a stroke whenever I sit down. Not what I was expecting when we got a dog. Also, if strokes are not forthcoming, he turns around and paws at my arm as if to say, "Come on, get to it." #whosinchargehere?

Duolingo changed its system quite considerably the other day.

It is a strangely bitter feeling when a gamified learning app changes the gamification mechanism of its app, meaning your gaming of the gamification of the app becomes redundant.

Basically, I'd found a sneaky way to line up a series of double-point bonanzas that I would use each week to save me from plummeting out of the diamond league due to my otherwise consistent laziness.

All that is now gone. 😞

Wow, very strange feeling to be joining a "new" social network. Reminds me of how things felt when this was a more regular experience. That sense of potential. The feeling that new ways of doing this stuff were still being explored. I've effectively been in self-preservation mode for so long now that it's funny to be reminded of when I still felt optimistic about it all.
