You also mentioned you're using Apple Remote Desktop - you can do bulk CLI commands and do OS updates via softwareupdate commands. You could make groups and schedule too - half on demand, half a day later. You get the idea.

To be honest, assuming your management is mostly for OS updates and brew/npm, if I were in your shoes, I'd keep going with just ARD. Most MDMs (e.g. Jamf) are a really big job in and of themselves.

Super (https://github.com/Macjutsu/super) is great for OS updates, but DIY and a little fiddly. Iru, the artist formerly known as Kandji, is a really nice lightweight MDM solution for around $8/device/month.

I saw yet another “CSS is a massively bloated mess” whine and I’m like. My dude. My brother in Chromium. It is trying as hard as it can to express the totality of visual presentation and layout design and typography and animation and digital interactivity and a few other things in a human-readable text format. It’s not bloated, it’s fantastically ambitious. Its reach is greater than most of us can hope to grasp. Put some *respect* on its *name*.
