Incredible, sensitive, scientifically informed reporting from a local paper in St. Louis, saying what we all expected: Parents whose children were treated at the Transgender Center completely contradict the account of a self-described whistleblower, explaining a slow, methodical proccess for treating trans youth in their care.

Read this. Share this. The truth deserves to get as big an audience as transphobic lies.

@stevesilberman So Grade 3 kids recognized racism, sounds like they & teacher could have pursued an age-appropriate discussion about economics and race both.

But those kids being smart and insightful enough to recognize racism scared the admin enough to ban that discussion. And then say without a hint of shame or self awareness "we don't ban books". No, lady, you do worse. You cut off those kids from thinking for themselves.

@firda Great picture! It's hard to go wrong with an elevator against the sky.

You might like this page with some more history of Val Marie and elevators: https://issuu.com/heritagesask/docs/hs_valmariebooklet_sept11

There's also a note that "The first elevator built was the Alberta Pacific in 1927; it was managed by Mr. A. Lemire. The Canadian National opened a branch in 1928 with Mr. R. Langlais as manager, but it was soon closed." It's not clear what happened to the 1928 elevator, but I'd guess this Pool was built in the 60s.
