Hey @pixelfed or @dansup . I have some questions and some remarks around pixelfed
Because i still, years after (i follow this project for quite some time) :
-Don't have a easy way to search with hashtag and all. For no reasons. I cannot see easily #art #comicstrip, stuff like that. So no discovery.
-Pixelfed still miss some algorithm and some way to customize the feed we want because, i don't want to see like pregnant women picture, nature photography or cute dogs and cats. It"s nice, but, it's not what I want to see. And for YEARS it's been like the ONLY type of photos i see in "discovery" and it's scary, like some shuterstock feel to it. Like "only the free licence photography can publish here" kind of vibe.
-For some reason, search for hashtag on the search bar (and on mobile app) don't work BUT going to
pixelfed/web/hashtag/hashtag work well. So : why ? It's really just destroy the user experience. Also, why subscribe to hashtag don't seem to do nothing on our feed ?
So yeah, i would love to love pixelfed, but it's still on this state for quite some years and i don't quite understand. I'm not complicated : i want creative stuffs, arts, drawings, comics.
Instagram know that, it show me a TONS of cool new artists and creators (despite what artist want you to think about it, still the main way of finding cool indie or new arts for public). Quite sad it's still the case depsite so many new improvements on so many way.
Still, love this project and glad a lots of people came here. But, clearly : still not really ready to offer a cool user experience tailored to their needs and want.
