The Gemarah is really clear that a safer Torah is written on the outside of non-separated animal hide (gvil). Rambam says anything else is not kosher.

Ashkenazim completely reversed this, using the inside of separated parchment (klaf), and basically no one complains.

It seems bizarre to me that we completely reversed the ruling from the Talmud with essentially no dissent.

Local grocery store lost power yesterday. They announced at 7pm that they were giving away all the ice cream because it wouldn't survive the night. Guess what everyone in the neighborhood is having for shavuot?
@hauntedhideaway If only Indiana Jones had used amazon.com, it could have saved him a lot of trouble.

His synagogue barred him because he’s gay. Now, he protests outside each Shabbat.

The guy at Home Depot said he couldn't make a key shaped like a challah.
Celebrated first contact day by burning bread. Spock would have said it was illogical, but I think Nimoy would have understood. #FirstContactDay
Apparently hanging this picture on the front door has become a family tradition.
Do you think they'll try him as an adult?
