We're excited to announce our latest partnership with Crowd Threat, an OSINT startup. They are donating a prize package for one of the winning teams in our upcoming CTF. Their platform is currently in beta testing, but you can check them out at https://crowdthreat.com/. Our winners will have access after the full rollout in January 2026.
We're back with another global CTF! Test your OSINT skills and help find real missing people. The event will be on November 15 at 9:30 AM Pacific time. Tickets will go on sale on October 25, with links posted in our discord.

π Season's Greetings, everyone! π
π Big News from TraceLabs! π
We're thrilled to announce our next Global Virtual Search Party CTF, happening on Saturday, January 27th! This is your early heads-up to mark your calendars. Stay tuned for more details on times and ticket info. Can't wait to see what we achieve together this time! ππ
π οΈ Improvement and Innovation π οΈ
We've taken your valuable feedback on our previous CTF events to heart. This time, we're implementing significant improvements to ensure a respectful, safe, and fun experience for all participants. Look out for modifications in points and categories, and updated briefings and guides for both contestants and judges.
π€ Fostering Collaboration π€
We also want to give the reminder that we want our friendly competition to be talented people vs. the missing persons problem, and less of talented people vs. talented people. Work alongside everyone, not against anyone. Additionally, our competition has always sought out quality over quantity, and we'll clarify that the HIGHEST PRIZE that is equivalent to our Black Badge, is the Most Valuable OSINT award. Top point earner is not the top prize, and they get a gold badge.
π MVO Award Criteria π
The MVO features OSINT that is:
- Highly Actionable
- Unique OSINT Technique Used
- High level of difficulty to find
- Exceptional context and supporting evidence provided
π©ββοΈ Judge's Commitment π©ββοΈ
Judges, we value your role immensely. As always, we're providing comprehensive training and an updated guide. This year, we're excited to return to LIVE JUDGE BRIEFINGS. We're adding new steps to our Call for Judges form to ensure we maintain the high standards we're known for. Your expertise and dedication are key to the success of our events.

The speaker lineup is fantastic and is listed here: [Speakers](https://2023.osintomatico.com/ponentes/)
The information on our TraceLabs OSINT Search Party CTF is listed here: [CTF](https://2023.osintomatico.com/ctf-osintomatico-2023/) We plan to focus on missing person cases that are as local to the area as possible.
Weβre glad to be engaging with the OSINT community that attends, and we do plan to have a Global CTF before our DEFCON CTF, that all can participate in remotely!

Trace Labs is a Not-For-Profit organization whose mission is to crowdsource the collection of Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) to generate new leads on active missing persons investigations. The missing persons issue is getting worse and requires modern and scalable solutions at various levels to help mitigate risk to society. Trace Labs leverages an intelligence platform that enables the collection of OSINT to power these crowdsourced community CTF events. These CTF events allow missing persons to receive the attention that is needed early in the search process.
