Robots might be gross - Lemmy.World

If robots end up becoming sentient and are not biological they won’t have evolved like we have being vulnerable to bacteria, diseases and poisons/toxins and because of it our sense of smell detects bad odors, we wash our hands, take showers and have a strong aversion to things that disgust us. Robots may just happily pick up shit, dive in dumpsters and roll around in sewage. And why wash your hands or take a shower when water could hurt you? Who even knows if they would perceive smell the same way we do.

Godot Mono tool script and Build Project button in editor.

Godot Mono tool script and Build Project button in editor. - Lemmy.World

I’m having trouble figuring out how to tell when a tool script is rebuilt in Godot mono 4.4. When the build project button is pressed the ONLY notification that the node receives is NotificationWMFocusOut and NotificationWMFocusIn so _EnterTree/_ExitTree and _Ready are useless and never called. My node has several RIDs that are sent to the RenderingServer and PhysicsServer3D but when the project is rebuilt there seems to be NO indication that it is being rebuilt so the node loses reference to all the RIDs (preventing me from freeing them) so they are still visible as ghost objects in the editor that don’t go away until I reload project. Has anyone figured out how to do this properly? I’m totally at a loss…

Any advice on bushes that keep dying?

Any advice on bushes that keep dying? - Lemmy.World

I’ve been having trouble with several of my plants the last couple of years. I’ve planted almost 4 blueberry bushes, grapevine and some winterberries that do well for several months then seem to start growing very slow and doing poorly. Our soil is more of a silty soil that doesn’t drain well so I did fill the holes in with good potting soil with compost and covered with a thin layer of the silty soil and try to water about once a week. The last year I had 3 blueberry bushes that I planted early spring that put out some new growth and then started to grow very slow and later died In early fall and didn’t come back the next year. I’ve tried to fertilize and add gardening Sulphur to them to help acidity the soil but no matter what I do everything slowly starts to die. I’ve noticed this year the leaves on the grapevines and blueberries appears to have chlorosis and the winterberries’ leaves are turning brown and curling up. It’s still ~90 degrees out so I doubt anything should be going dormant yet (I live in zone 5b). I even tried to buy special blueberry fertilizer to make sure I wasn’t missing anything important but I’m still having issues. Here is the blueberry bush: [https://lemmy.world/pictrs/image/7e396b56-3313-469c-a309-096e27f8aaa9.jpeg] The raspberries: [https://lemmy.world/pictrs/image/dbdf0848-bdfc-40dd-b014-6b139f18e1d8.jpeg] And one of the winterberry bushes: [https://lemmy.world/pictrs/image/259a5d46-5a23-4892-98b7-e248605341a4.jpeg] Does this look like iron defiency or potentially some other sort of issue? At this point I’m considering getting my soil tested but if anyone has any advice let me know.

For those taking generic Adderall made by "Granules Pharmeceuticals"... - Lemmy.World

After being switched to a new manufacturer for my generic adderall XR this last month I have been feeling spaced out, unable to concentrate and fatigued. I also noticed other people having problems online the last few weeks. And for anyone that wants to say “it’s all in your head, generics are the same” this manufacturer had a citation from the FDA this December failing on multiple points of “quality control”: FDA Data Dashboard [https://datadashboard.fda.gov/ora/firmprofile.htm?FEIi=3011585184&/identity/3011585184] The citation’s details states the following (summarized because the text boxes are images and not actual text…): > The responsibilities/procedures are not in writing and fully followed > Separate/defined areas to prevent contamination are deficient regarding holding of rejected components, drug product containers and closures before disposition > Buildings used in manufacture and holding of drug products are not well maintained > Equipment used in manufacture, processing, packing or holding of drug products is not appropriate design to facilitate operations for intended use > Equipment and utensils are not cleaned and maintained at appropriate intervals to prevent contamination that would alter the safety, identity, strength quality or purity of drug product Despite there being no guarantee drug is the proper dosage or even that the drug is pure and uncontaminated the FDA had taken no action or even warned them formally. I literally do not understand how this drug is being sold right now.

Can i separate the vines?

Can i separate the vines? - Lemmy.World

We’ve had this golden pothos for a couple of years at the back of our room which doesn’t get much light and some of the vines reverted to the non-variegated form Since then I’ve learned that variegated pothos needs higher light but I also wanted to keep the vines without chopping them up into node cuttings. Would it be possible to cut the long vines from the parent and root/repot them whole? I really want to move the variegated portion to a much brighter area as it has had very little growth here but keep the vines in their current location.
