The other factor is that many of the recipients are on both sites. So maybe they have already seen your output from that site and don't particularly want to see it reproduced again here.
@EmmaDingle just starting it now. I think the liberties with events are easier to spot now and are quite infuriating. Especially when some dates/events are presented as facts when they aren’t!

If you run a telephone network, on the other hand, your costs go up faster as you sign up new subscribers. That's because the infrastructure necessary to connect all these people scales quadratically.
