With new mini split heat pumps, by electricity consumption went up 32% in July. Got to remember, it was warmer and more humid this year, so even if I just had my old window unit, usage would have been up. Impossible to say how much. While I'd normally be banking kWh's now I'm just breaking even. Expecting big electricity bills in winter, but none from the oil company.
Price is likely to be a huge challenge to getting SMRs into non-specialized markets.
If you were in charge, wouldn't you choose solar plus storage?
