1) Have something to say
2) Say it

As a result of my embarrassingly poor planning I can’t make it to @[email protected] tomorrow. Reply or DM if you’re a member of an underrepresented group who would like a free ticket and I’ll randomly pick someone to receive mine. You should go cos it’s always friendly and brilliant.
Having watched the SwiftUI videos on https://developer.apple.com/videos/ I’m impressed by how fun it looks and how directly it’s imported (albeit renamed) many of its concepts from React. One interesting part is the optional explicit two-way binding — has someone already tried this in React?

Four tweets above this in my feed is a tech bro I avoid at events because he's kind'v an arse and was often loudly chasing booze. His post is him lamenting how afraid he is to tweet because he might offend someone. https://twitter.com/KeziyahL/status/1142806909323493376

“I understand being afraid of saying the wrong thing and offending people. But when you 1) educate yourself on how words can harm marginalized people and 2) take your ego out of it and use call outs as a learning experience you don't really have to be afraid of tweeting anymore”

(Ironic that there’s no way for me to quietly link to the review in question — Twitter would insist on putting it front and centre. That’s the opposite of the point.)
Mundane I know, but to this day I get a thrill from the casual brilliance of hypertext. Reading a restaurant review: fancy a look at the full menu? Curious about that Victor Hugo story? Off you pop.

@[email protected] @[email protected] @[email protected] @[email protected] Thanks for the suggestions! Your ideas have collectively made me think of “ratchet rebase”, which (in a classic me manoeuvre) I like best. So I’ll just start saying that now & pretend it’s always been a thing #ratchetrebase #thoughtleader
Does there exist a catchy name for a Git rebase which happens incrementally? Say your branch began 100 commits behind `master` and so, rather than rebasing onto `master` all at once, you do a series of rebases which proceed a handful of commits at a time until you reach its head.

Microsoft is vocally celebrating #Pride month, which is a good thing! But how do they reconcile this with their ongoing campaign donations to some of the most homophobic and transphobic politicians in America? Here is a thread of threads with the facts. https://twitter.com/Microsoft/status/1134506730753265665
