I find @phoebebovy.bsky.social writes interesting things, many of which contain things I actually agree with or which make me think. The reaction to her latest proves her point. I hope she ignores the crap and continues writing.

The American FTC has announced a "Rule Banning Fake Reviews".
FWIW I stand by what I wrote 10 years ago "In Praise of Fake Reviews".
ML-is-not-physics aside, there is surely a case for chemist-turned-cognitive scientist Christopher Longuet-Higgins as the most influential physicist of the age (PhD supervisor for both Hinton and Peter Higgs).
(That he also advised my ex-prof John Murrell and my PhD supervisor Richard Bader is purely incidental to this claim).

Bram dedicated a huge portion of his life to building an open source tool for the benefit of the programming community. He gave away all donations to the Vim project to charity. He will be missed.
Well this is sad. RIP Bram Moolenaar, author of my favourite text editor for the last 30 years.
