These are the Evangelicals (born-again, Jesus-personal-savior types) we in the US have to deal with. They are a quarter of America and 3/4th white. Half of them live in the South. The white Evangelicals vote 4:1 Republican but Black Evangelicals vote overwhelmingly democrat. They're hung up on opposition to abortion but the Southern ones also celebrate Confederate "heroes" as "heritage," subliminal racism. Worldwide, Evangelicals trend left, on the side of social justice, but not in the US.
