I just published my latest #glitchart newsletter, the Error Logs.
Inside there's
- Fruit based glitch artist
- Datamoshing music video
- tutorial on some cool Processing effects
@iamgerardthomas there's definitely been a trend towards people expecting that, and, unfortunately, it's also extended into the devaluation of art too. People pay a monthly fee to Spotify and Netflix and they get as much access as they want.
As for tools like apps and software, there's so many good open source options available and I think that's a good thing in that it stops companies like Adobe taking advantage of consumers (at least more than they already do)
"When the time comes, are you looking for something a bit more remarkable than a humdrum burial or cremation?
Have you thought about mummification?
Rest in perfection: Because you deserve more than dust and worms"
@spoonburiers I should probably spend more time here and on Pixelfed.
I'm not sure how much longer I want to contribute to enabling these billionaires and their debasement of society.
@spoonburiers I've not really spent much time with it. The Fedilab app is designed just as a generic client (so I think in theory you could use it for your Mastodon, Peertube, Pixelfed accounts). So it's not really optimized for a seamless, enjoyable experience and stuff loads weirdly depending on what kind of platform the profile you're looking at is from.
I think the Mastodon app has improved quite a bit this year. Things are loading faster and it has a lot of nice features.
@spoonburiers I'm not doing a very good job posting! I'm waiting for Pixelfed. I signed up and have been accessing it through an app called Fedilab (a generic fediverse platform app), which is really cool you can do that but the user experience isn't great.
Thanks for the boost.
Been melting cats
@dansup keep at it. I'm pretty new to the Fediverse. Made this account with Mastodon a few months ago & made a Pixelfed account last week
Platforms like Cara need funding to survive & it's a hard balancing act to be able to survive without selling your soul WHILE also making it attractive to artists & people who just want to look at pictures.
Something like Pixelfed takes back control & puts it into the hands of communities while still being accessible to everyone. This is important work.
