The first Sustainable Development Goal - SDG1 is No Poverty: End Poverty in all its forms everywhere. The first of seventeen goals, it was developed through cooperation between member nations at the United Nations. These goals present a series of aspirational, inspirational and attainable elements of the vision of a safer, more just world.

Why do some people seem to think going green is going backwards? It isn't. Electric vehicles, renewable energy, and the retirement of fossil fuels offer progress and relief for all of us. It's time to move past the Fear of Being First and boldly step into the Green Economic future standing before us.
Is the Fear of Being First interfering with our efforts to go green? Our reluctance to embrace change slows us down as we face environmental challenges. ICEing and Coal Rolling demonstrate responses to change that some aren't ready to consider. This isn't the first time we have addressed these kinds of changes. The arrival of steam locomotives and gas and diesel cars presented similar challenges in their day.
