In India, the same playbook is being used to attack Science, and education is equated with preparing students for exams to get into engineering/medical college.
Not to develop reason, critical thinking or truly understand Science.
I'm livid that our politicians are completely in thrall to this nonsense. Millions & millions without education, jobs and a decent standard of living, but this is what 'development' is.
Just saw the news of Craig Venter's passing. Genomics and CV's work in the late 90s blew my mind (was a college student then).
What struck me more was his push to patent DNA sequences. I began to suspect that the 'developed world' was not all that it was made out to be.

Yesterday's rains were disastrous for my local bookstore ☹️
I'm sure that having a Tamil PI had nothing at all to do with the acronym choice here...
Dose, vada, pongal, upma etc. all up for grabs folks 😁

An analytical pipeline called Iteratively Defined Lengths of Inaccessibility (IDLI) maps the genome-wide occupancy of a range of nucleosome types and shows that most nucleosomes exhibit programmed ‘distortion’, in which the DNA exists mainly in a partially accessible state.
