The unfolding and compounding tragedies in the aftermath of the earthquake in Turkey and Syria are breaking my heart.

The USGS pager indicates there will be significant casualties and serious economic loss.
The pager system uses a series of calculations which consider population density, infrastructure and the regional economy to determine possible impacts from #earthquakes.

Video taken from helicopter shows dome growth inside Popocatépetl crater. According to CENAPRED, a newly identified dome has a diameter of 35-40m and a height between 5-10m.

Spectacular footage of a volcano that's near and dear to my heart.

Cleared out my workspace at PCC recently. Now to figure out a temporary storage solution. Definitely mixed emotions, but overwhelming optimism for this next step!

I am really enjoying reconnecting with folks who I had followed on twitter, and had missed seeing their posts since deleting my account.

CIP- @Geotripper , who shared wonderful photos from field trips in the Sierra, California/Oregon geology/landscapes. I love seeing his photos of many of places that bring back happy memories for me!
