Data & Impact at CT Foodshare. Used to work in state government. Former assistant tee ball coach. Not sure what I’m doing here. He/him/his
I think that people should have to say to an actual person “I’m sorry but you don’t qualify for SNAP benefits” or maybe “unfortunately we can’t approve your well drilling permit” before they can have an opinion on what makes government effective and/or efficient.
Can’t wait to see performance.gov rebranded.
At some point over the last few years people decided we needed Anaconda and Jupyter to teach kids Python.
If you have a kid that’s into being part of a team but not into traditional sports, I recommend First Robotics. There’s a whole movie about it, and I’m sure it’s not a perfect organization, but it’s been a positive experience

Vendor “so we totally messed up and all changes made to your data after 10 AM yesterday are gone”
Me “yes. We’re the one’s that noticed”
Vendor “Cool, so here are your two options. Oh, and we’ve totally shut off access to everything until we can speak with you so you can tell us which of these lousy options you prefer”
Here’s a thing that happened while I was away. Citing HIPAA when the rule makers are publishing the data themselves is something: https://www.ksl.com/article/51063030/state-tech-officer-fired-after-pushing-back-against-plans-to-scrub-public-data
State tech officer fired after pushing back against plans to scrub public data

A state tech officer was fired after he pushed back against plans to scrub public data from a transparency website, including info that could help Utahns shop for health care and college degrees.

👋 Might take this for a spin again
@krusynth Funny enough, I happened to be looking into your stickers today and noticed that you encourage folks to donate to their local food bank/pantry. Thank you!
Hey- So when folks are done fixing all the government data and digital stuff, come talk to me about direct service non profits.
