Mastodon FAQ: Toot sweet?

https://mjcarty.com/mastodon-faq-toot-sweet

My latest blog post is an attempt to answer some frequently asked questions for new Mastodon users or the Mastodon-curious.

Along the way, it takes in some wise words from the following excellent folk: @davidallengreen; @clive; @teago_emplaw; and @Kategl.

Also featuring some art from the wonderful Winsor McCay, who (I was delighted to discover) was very fond of drawing the mastodon!

@Laughinggirl1967 Is there ever any other way to love them? Any litter brand recommendations? All the one I tried through the years are tracking all over and dusty (2 of my babies like to dig/burry deeply…)
@Laughinggirl1967 so 10? Really? Wow… I have 3 ex feral and it is a full time job,… they each need personal time with me, play time, the mom requires me to pet her when she eats… and the litter situation is quite Intense. They are the greatest thing, but, If you have tips how how you make it work to keep you place clean, I would be interested.
@ct_bergstrom not sure how prevalent it is, but what about choice to manage exposure to others? As a care taker for my pets, I cannot get sick; and the last thing I want is to expose friends and family… I would think/hope people feel similar for their children, elders, family, friends, community. Clearly not the first thought of many who seem to prefer the bravado/selfish approach …
@feditips is there a way to add the CW after the fact if we post something and them realize we should have used it?
@ziya @Sheril We need to remove the emotions from the equation so people can be more rational in the way they think about issues and solutions and thus vote to solve the real issue.
@ziya @Sheril show that we not only listen, but really try to do something about it… and never stop the discussion even when we fail face our failures (it is hard to get everything right, we are human), and if GOP block: point it out clearly and without emotion. We need to win up and down ballot so we can fix things, and stop gerrymandering and other vote suppression laws…
@ziya @Sheril those things that would have benefited the local community. We’re the GOP beats us is they occupy the news constantly.., they don’t do any actual work (most of them at least) but they campaign non stop, spewing their lies and misinformation and using fears non-stop… we need to do the same but in a positive way: show we actually care by being there for all the communities in distress…
