You see, for those who may be unfamiliar, I joined Mastodon/Fediverse (a few servers ago) in November of 2022 and not long after I was open on here about being part of the #LGBTQ community. Yet, there was this not insignificant portion of people who at one point or another had been part of my life and still were completely in the dark. I had shared the information one on one with maybe a little over a dozen close friends and a couple of family members (I don't have much close family left). Today was the day that changed... And so far, I'm happy to say it's mostly been supportive.
All that said I know I've been very reclusive lately. That's been true on FB as well. But I also wanted to pop in here today and say thanks because the open and accepting environment here helped give me the confidence I needed. Thank you and y'all are number one. I will endeavor to participate regularly again soon. ❤️🫂
