I'm writing a screenplay about a Golden Retriever that enters and wins Greyhound races. It's called The Fast and the Furriest.

I am heartbroken by this news. 5 are dead and 18 wounded from this horrific armed assault at a gay club hosting a drag show night in Colorado Springs.

An attack upon our community anywhere is an attack upon us all everywhere. My heart is with the victims and their families.

I never thought I'd say this, but @matt_levine reaming FTX is even better than @matt_levine reaming @elonmusk (repeatedly).

FTX’s Balance Sheet Was Bad

Serum, customer money, etc.; plus Elon Musk’s Twitter debt and anti-ESG antitrust.

For the sake of my soul (and my liver), I studiously avoided any election news (rumors, guesses) last night. The awesome spectacle of human stupidity has turned for me from amusing to tragic. Reading the (incomplete) results this morning, I feel very blue, in the best sense. Just might raise a glass (or two) at lunch.
Here's my problem (if it is one). Last week, I created an account on toot.community. This week, I discovered an older account, with the same user name, on mastodon.social. Now people are following me on either/both, and I'm not sure where to post. (I'd prefer the older account, but it has fewer follows.) Can I merge/link them somehow? Other solutions?

Expect some of the following to happen in the coming weeks:

- celebrities with huge follower counts pushing tiny community-run servers to their knees

- instance admin burnout; shutting down of servers

- big new servers that don't "vibe" with common rules or culture being widely defederated

- some notable account violating an instance code of conduct and throwing a fit

- lots of people ragequitting Mastodon for one reason or another

- etc.

It'll be a rough ride. Patience and strength, all.
