Working for safe cycling in Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham UK, and further afield (often on my eBike).
I am a Cycling UK Local Representative.
Sutton Coldfield now has a vision for active travel: https://suttoncoldfieldtowncouncil.gov.uk/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/Draft-Sutton-Coldfield-Active-Vision.pdf
New Hall Valley is such a lovely place to ride.
It really is a privilege to live near Sutton Park.
The bike racks at our school in the mid-1970s, which dated back to the 1930s. They were located in a large bay, with racks on three sides. Probably four or five of these in a row. Maybe space for 120 bikes. Pretty full each day.
Just so you know parking on pavements across zebra crossings is an international problem.
There aren’t really any cycle lanes in the old city core of Valencia, because the roadways are narrow. So, the city has made the speed limit 20kph (12mph) and it’s mostly people walking, cycling and escooter riding.
The park follows the bed of a rerouted river and the bridges take on a new function. 2/2
Valencia’s cycling and walking infrastructure isn’t that sophisticated in engineering or design terms, but it is ubiquitous. The park that winds through the city has separated paths for cycling, walking and running. 1/2
The safety barriers at the traffic lights at the bottom of our road have been demolished again. Three completely down this time. I can’t imagine how fast you’d need to drive to do that sort of damage. This level of collision is now every few months. Here’s the junction on GMaps.
