⛏️ Child Labor Outside the Apple Store — By Eduardo Relero in Madrid, Spain 🇪🇸
This 3D illusion was painted directly outside a massive Apple Store in Madrid to force people waiting in line for the newest iPhone to physically confront the harsh realities of the cobalt mining required to build their screens.

New rating system for code just dropped:
⭐ Regular (farms work out to AI agents)
⭐⭐ Cage-free (uses one instance of Claude Code)
⭐⭐⭐ Free-range (uses an AI-enabled IDE like Cursor for chat and/or Copilot autocomplete)
⭐⭐⭐⭐ Pasture-raised (artisanal, small-batch code typed by hand)
I deactivated Google Play on my phone. The electricity company app was the first to be bricked. 'You must update.'
I wrote to them: ’I don’t have Google or Apple. Where else can I update the app?’ Nowhere else, they replied.
I wrote (politely) back: ’I can’t use your app any more then. It’s an odd requirement to make of your customers. A Norlys customer can only access all Norlys services if they are also a customer of one of two specific private for-profit US companies.’

It completely modified my perception. It calmed my anger against lies. It allowed me to read something with no judgement other than "Someone want me to believe that".
Next, you will start questioning who is that "someone". But one step at a time…
First new #Disintermedia blog post for 2026!

Well ... kind of new. This is the first of 3 posts I wrote for the Bridge Seat co-op blog, which I'm reposting so I can stop sharing links to SS.
This one is about why geeks need to stop questing for the Holy Grail of pure P2P networks, and embrace a vision of servers as community-scale infrastructure, run by and for the people using them.
A vision of server admin of the people, for the people, by the people.
The Supreme Court has just turned down a petition to hear an appeal in a case that held that AI works can't be copyrighted. By turning down the appeal, the Supreme Court took a massively consequential step to protect creative workers' interests:
