Green University teaches students to embrace ancestral skills
Green University near Cardwell offers students immersion experiences with ancestral skills such as skinning and butchering deer, tanning hides, foraging edible plants, sewing buckskin clothes and more.
Montana StandardWe did a major overhaul of our Mongolian ger at camp. The shelter was donated to Green University a few years ago, but didn't have all the required felt or canvas, so we substituted old carpet and tarps. That worked great for a while, but started to sag and fall apart with sun damage, so it was looking very slum-like. This winter we bought a new felt wall liner for the walls, along with a custom-made canvas cover. Shelby is our lead facilitator at camp, and now has a respectable home to enjoy.
Thanks to Mark Hay for teaching a great felting class for Green University, and thanks to Linda for hosting the class in her garage!
